We want you to be completely satisfied with your Mai Premium experience. This policy outlines how to cancel your subscription, request refunds, and what happens to your data when you downgrade.
Your memories are always yours - cancelling Premium doesn't delete your data, it simply limits access to premium features.
1. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your Mai Premium subscription anytime through our self-service portal:
1.1 For Stripe Subscriptions (Credit Card)
- Log in to your Mai account
- Navigate to Settings page
- Scroll to Subscription Status section
- Click "Manage Subscription" button
- You'll be redirected to Stripe Customer Portal
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirm cancellation
1.2 For Razorpay Subscriptions (UPI/Card)
- Log in to your Mai account
- Navigate to Settings page
- Scroll to Subscription Status section
- Click "Manage Subscription" button
- You'll be redirected to Razorpay Dashboard
- Follow Razorpay's cancellation flow
⏰ Important:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You retain Premium access until the paid period expires
- No partial refunds for unused time
- You can resubscribe anytime without penalty
2. Refund Policy
2.1 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee (First-Time Users)
If you're a first-time Mai Premium subscriber and unsatisfied with the service, you can request a full refund within 7 days of your initial purchase.
- Eligibility: First-time subscribers only
- Timeframe: Within 7 days of initial payment
- Refund Amount: Full payment amount
- Processing Time: 5-10 business days to original payment method
2.2 Situations Where Refunds Are NOT Granted
- ❌ Cancellations after 7 days of initial purchase
- ❌ Partial refunds for unused portion of subscription period
- ❌ Renewals (only first-time purchases qualify)
- ❌ Subscription downgrades mid-billing cycle
- ❌ Change of mind after using premium features extensively
- ❌ Technical issues caused by user's device or network
2.3 Exceptional Circumstances
We may grant refunds outside the 7-day window for:
- Billing errors or duplicate charges
- Service outages lasting more than 48 hours
- Critical bugs preventing use of premium features
- Unauthorized charges (report immediately)

Email refunds@maimind.in with your account email, order ID, and reason for refund request. We'll respond within 48 hours.
3. What Happens After Cancellation?
3.1 Immediate Effects (End of Billing Period)
- Dream Cycles: No longer available (existing insights retained)
- Uncensored Mode: Disabled (switches to standard LLM mode)
- Personality Screen: Read-only access (no new analysis)
- Memory Graph: Hidden behind premium gate
- Conversation History: Unlimited → Limited to recent sessions
3.2 Data Retention (What Stays)
- ✅ All your memories (flash, episodic, semantic, autobiographical)
- ✅ Conversation history
- ✅ Existing psychological profile (if generated)
- ✅ Dream insights created during premium period
- ✅ Account and authentication data
3.3 Resubscribing
You can upgrade back to Premium anytime:
- All your memories and data remain intact
- Premium features reactivate immediately after payment
- No data loss during free tier period
- Same pricing available (unless promotional offer expired)
4. Payment Methods & Refund Processing
4.1 Accepted Payment Methods
- Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express (via Stripe)
- UPI: Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm (via Razorpay)
- Net Banking: All major Indian banks (via Razorpay)
- Wallets: Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge (via Razorpay)
4.2 Refund Processing Times
- Stripe (Card Payments): 5-10 business days to original card
- Razorpay (UPI/Wallets): 3-7 business days to source account
- Razorpay (Net Banking): 5-10 business days to bank account
- Processing Delay: Up to 48 hours for refund initiation on our end
⚠️ Note on Processing:
Once we initiate a refund, processing times depend on your bank or payment provider. If you don't receive your refund within the stated timeframe, contact your bank first, then email us at support@maimind.in.
5. Free Trials & Promotional Offers
5.1 Free Trial Policy (If Offered)
When Mai offers free trials:
- You must cancel before trial period ends to avoid charges
- Payment method required for trial activation
- Automatic conversion to paid subscription after trial
- One free trial per user (based on email address)
5.2 Promotional Discounts
Promotional pricing and discount codes:
- Apply only to initial purchase (renewals at standard price)
- Cannot be combined with other offers
- May have limited availability or expiration dates
- Refunds calculated on discounted amount paid, not full price
6. Disputes & Resolution
6.1 Billing Disputes
If you notice an incorrect charge:
- Email us immediately at billing@maimind.in with details
- Include order ID, date, and amount charged
- We'll investigate within 48 hours
- Refund or credit issued if error confirmed
6.2 Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback. Chargebacks harm our relationship with payment processors and may result in:
- Immediate account suspension
- Permanent ban from Mai services
- Loss of all data and memories
